Great Expectations
Snoop and Dre did not pump our bags.

Last week, crypto twitter was abuzz with what might come to pass during the Superbowl. While we correctly predicted crypto ads, we struck out when it comes to NFTs. So, did we learn anything?
  • The halftime show was great for those of us in our 30’s
  • Crypto has hit mainstream, but NFTs are still a small sub-niche
  • Speculators love to speculate - be wary of unfounded rumors
  • It’s very easy to get caught up in the CT echo chamber. Don’t forget most people have no idea our little community exists.
Vibe Analysis
@DeezeFi, a top NFT collector, is famous for buying NFTs solely based on ‘vibes’. If the vibe criteria is met, there’s a high likelihood that a project will succeed. But wtf are vibes, really?
Depeche Node’s Vibe Breakdown
  • Cultural relevance: the project is either ushering in a new wave of cultural activity or is capturing current culture
  • Art: quality art = good feelings. Good feelings are vibes. Good art inherently means that real effort was put into the creation of the project
  • Founders: vibing with the founder = vibing with the project. In other words, are you a good judge of character? A bad founder will run a project into the ground.
  • Inspiration: good vibes inspire you. Does the project inspire you? Are you impressed by the work the team is cranking out? Can this become more than a jpg?
Social: are people talking about the project? Do they like to interact with one another? Is a community forming?
Intuition & good judgment = vibes
